September Morning

I'm the Grateful Guest of Bees

And Sawtooth Sunflowers.

One of our favorite bike rides is down to Mt. Horeb on the Military Ridge Trail through the Sugar River Watershed.  Just as the trail crosses Paulson Rd outside of Verona, there are fields of native sawtooth sunflowers that seem awash in the golden light of their blooms.  Every time I ride by I say to myself that I have to come back out with my camera.  On a sunny September morning I finally did and spent several hours photographing these beauties.  About mid-way through, I realized I had company as bees and butterflies started photobombing my shots.  The bees were much more cooperative holding still for me.   This September morning was another instance of photography opening my eyes to what’s in front of me and to appreciation of the amazing beauty that nature is capable of.
